Mexico is no stranger to Goregrind, housing many bands including the likes of Disgorge, Oxidised Razor, Urtikaria Anal, and of course the purveyors of memorable bands names themselves Paracoccidioidomicosisproctitissarcomucosis. All that aside though lets talk about Fecalizer a three piece Goregrind/ Brutal Death Metal band from of course Mexico, Fecalizer formed in 2003 and began releasing material in 2007 starting with their demo and following with a number of splits including splits with bands such as Carnal Diafragma, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Cannibe and many more, as well as releasing their debut full length ‘Zombie Mankind Extermination back in 2014’.
We are now however in 2016 and now seeing the release of the second full length from Fecalizer, ‘Gore Galore’, put out through the exceptional Coyote Records, containing 15 tracks and clocking in at just over 30 minutes Fecalizer prove they are band to watch out for.
The album starts with a sinister keyboard which serves as the countdown to the oncoming brutality of the opening track ‘Fecalic Ritual’, showcasing catchy, seemingly melodious riffs, counteracted by spewing guttural vocals. After this we are launched into the utter Goregrind/ Brutal Death Metal mixture of ‘Global Collapse’ and the ride really begins. The blend of samples, gore, and sheer barbarity continue in the same fashion for the next 20+ minutes with some stand out tracks including ‘The Dead Shall Rise’, ‘Original Grindstars’, ‘We Are Going To Eat You’ and ‘They Will Rise Again’.
All in all Gore Galore is a decent listen and certainly leaves you wanting to come back for more, the clichés and general novelty of the genre that is Goregrind can often I feel overshadow the personal enjoyment which is to be had, Goregrind might not be full of beautifully crafted, emotive songs but it certainly packs a punch where is needs to and delivers, Gore Galore is a great album for both newcomers to the genre as well as more experienced listeners.
